While everyone was having a great time at Nintendo's big 3DS showcase in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago, some people weren't having the greatest time afterwards, with a Japanese magazine reporting widespread cases of discomfort after use. Weekly tabloid magazine Friday claims that, having interviewed a range of people during and after the event, a majority of users reported signs of dizziness and/or eye fatigue, and quickly turned off the handheld's 3D features. While it was reported that holding both yourself and the 3DS completely still alleviated this somewhat, it still didn't take long for discomfort to set in.

Has anyone here played the 3DS, and have you experienced similar effects after playing the 3DS?

I've played my friend 3DS. I actually felt disoriented right after playing for 8 minutes or so. It took some time for the dizziness to go away.

I knew there was the warning about you shouldn't let little kids play it with the 3D on, but... I'm interested in seeing how Nintendo deals with this. As for me myself personally, I played a demo 3DS at Gamestop once, but only for a few minutes (one fight in that Street Fighter game), so I guess that wasn't long enough for it to have an effect. Plus I kept turning the 3D on and off so I could see how much of a difference there was. XD

My friend always says his eyes bother him after a while and that he gets headaches from time to time.
Though he also said you get used to it.
Never really played, myself.

Me either, but after hearing things like this and with me already having massive headaches now and then due to TMJ, I'm definitely NOT going to try it. xD
